So, yes, it’s important to have a ventilation system that works, but these days more and more companies are using their air con as an interior design feature and we think it looks great!
Ventilation is essential for commercial buildings. It provides a more comfortable environment, by replacing stale air with fresh air. It is common for systems to be hidden, but using the system as an interior design feature can add more height to a room, create a sense of more space and offer a modern and funky look at the same time.
A great example of this design feature is Elevator’s premises in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen. From a design point of view, they have made this run-of-the-mill office suite look fabulous. But when you work in air conditioning, like us at Aiken, well….we are just smitten with these beautiful ventilation systems being shown in their full glory for everyone to admire.
Of course, we are biased – we love air conditioning systems! – regardless of where they are and whether they are hidden away or made prominent, but it’s certainly worth considering the options when re-decorating or building new premises.
As part of Elevator’s refurbishment process, they knocked down walls and stripped back the entire office ceiling to expose the air vents before painting them black. Mixed with funky furniture and quirky décor, it oozes style and looks fantastic.
Elevator provides entrepreneurial support and inspiration to start-ups across the Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire, as well as running Business Gateway. Their office not only “looks the business”, but offers more space for creative ideas. Great job! Well done to the architects and design team behind it.
